Der Landeswahlleiter und sein Stellvertreter werden auf unbestimmte Zeit ernannt. Die ernennende Stelle teilt die Namen des Landeswahlleiters und seines Stellvertreters sowie die Anschriften ihrer Dienststellen mit Telekommunikationsanschlüssen dem Bundeswahlleiter mit und macht sie öffentlich bekannt.
